No nets tonight as it's pissing down. Just as well I got some practise in last night. I'm down as 12th man for the 4ths again on Saturday, and as you can imagine that doesn't exactly fill me with glee.
that sucks! due to my irregular official training availability, i took up the offer of a regular spot last season (aus) to play in our newly formed limited overs side. there is nothing like being back from a looooooooooong lay off with a new bowling style and being thrown into the deep end with batsmen on a mission to take the long handle to you... but at least i got a roll of the arm (and wickets).
does your club offer this format; it is better than nothing, and a big challenge to bowl EVERY ball on the spot!
I got a game in the end - two in fact - so that was good. I didn't get a bowl though and that is starting to annoy me a little.
All our (4th XI) matches are limited to either 40 or 50 overs, there is a T20 competition but that's only for the first team players. I have to say I'm not a big fan of T20 in any case. Too much brawn and not enough brain for my taste...
